A theater play about Oedipus, the candidate who announces an investigation into his past. The play takes place at the Cameri Theatre in Tel Aviv; the performance date was not specified.
Election night. Faced with the corruption that opens every news broadcast, the candidate Oedipus is the great hope. Committed to “new politics,” Oedipus announces that he will investigate dark past affairs casting a shadow over the country’s moral image. In order to set an example, he declares that the process will begin with an investigation into his own past. Oh, what a mistake!
“Oedipus the King,” which has captivated audiences and creators for more than two thousand years, comes to the Cameri stage in a brilliant adaptation as a fast-paced, nerve-racking and moving thriller, full of twists and turns.
