It deals with secondary trauma, moments of breaking down and discovery, and an immense yearning to find an answer and healing. Any connection between the work and reality is close.
The show offers a unique perspective on post-traumatic stress through an ancient Japanese folktale and through the eyes of the partner, who is forced to live in its shadow and sometimes be swallowed up by it. It deals with secondary trauma, moments of breaking down and discovery, and an immense yearning to find an answer and healing. It is both an intimate and universal story, showing the far-reaching impact of psychological injuries on the warrior and on those who love him. The production was born out of pain, need, and a desire to give voice to what most often remains unspoken.
