A comic-ironic play about Thomas, a bitter old man, at Tmuna Theatre in Tel Aviv.
Based on Thomas P.’s Last Notes for the Common Good by S. Eskildsen: Thomas, a bitter, irritable, misanthropic, atheist old man, meets various strange and unusual characters during the performance. The encounters, characterized by alienation and strangeness, express a unique perspective on life, death, and human loneliness. An ironic comic work that can easily be defined as a humane black comedy!
The encounters, characterized by alienation and strangeness, express a unique perspective on life, death, and human loneliness. At the heart of the plot is a series of encounters between Thomas and a stranger his age, and the development of their relationship. His new acquaintance is Thomas’s complete opposite: a sociable man who loves music, cinema, and even theater. He believes one should continue to enjoy every moment remaining in life. It will not be long before a secret from their shared past is revealed, shaking Thomas and clarifying what the only decisive choice he must make is. “How did I not think of that before?” Thomas says to himself.
Despite its macabre nature, this is an ironic comic work that can easily be defined (by anyone who wishes to define it) as a humane black comedy!
