A cabaret of passions and torments by Fyodor Dostoevsky. Director Alexander Molochnikov, known for his daring and original productions, draws the audience into a cabaret performance—a lively carnival in which the voices of the classic heroes take on a modern and surprising tone.
Dostoevsky, a genius of the psychological thriller, invites us into the intricate maze of the human conscious and subconscious. In the novel Crime and Punishment, he explores the depths of the criminal’s soul. Together with the protagonist, Rodion Raskolnikov, we travel a long road from crime to punishment, and along the way delve into his moral dilemmas. Dostoevsky masterfully combines elements of a thriller with philosophical prose, creating a sophisticated tale that prompts reflection on the nature of evil and the possibility of atonement.

Reviews:
“Crime and Punishment is exactly the kind of production missing from Israel’s mainstream repertory theater: productions that push boundaries, are not afraid of the audience’s reaction or of their commercial viability, and examine where the stage can be taken.” / Ynet
“A colorful and sweeping experience with a rich theatricality that engages all the senses. A groundbreaking production that shakes up Dostoevsky’s complex plot and raises existential questions about law and justice, human nature, and human evil.” / Yermi Amir, Kan 11
