Staged Reading: Love at the End of the Tunnel

An original play featuring Sandra Sade and Moni Moshonov, based on the story of Aviva and Keith Siegel: On the evening of October 6, 2023, a couple in their sixties from Kibbutz Kfar Aza return home after an ordinary family day. They stop to shop, talk about their children and grandchildren, and about their daughter’s wedding album. A few hours later, their lives are turned upside down.

Exactly three years after that terrible day, the play will be presented as a staged reading with actors Moni Moshonov and Sandra Sade, in the presence of Aviva and Keith. On October 7, they are kidnapped from their home to Gaza. Aviva is wounded; Keith is wounded. They are moved between tunnels, hideout apartments, and schools, exposed to violence, hunger, humiliation, and terror. Within this inhuman reality, memories of their life together, humor, faith, and, above all, the love between them become their means of survival. After 51 days, Aviva is released. Keith remains behind. She becomes the voice fighting for his return; he struggles to survive for another 433 days. After 484 days in captivity, Keith returns home. Love at the End of the Tunnel was created by Michal Aharoni and Eitan Schwartz following a series of meetings with Aviva and Keith Siegel. It is a story about captivity and freedom, loss and hope, and above all, about two people who discover that even when everything is taken from them, their ability to choose life—and the love that connects them—cannot be taken away.
