Class Description:
This class is grounded in a variety of techniques and approaches derived from floorwork practices, including Release, Fly Low, and Soft Acrobatics. The session begins with dynamic warm-ups and strengthening exercises designed to develop the physical capacities required for these techniques. We will focus on breaking down specific elements into clear, accessible components. In the final part of the class, we integrate the learned materials into an energetic, flowing combination that incorporates the elements practiced throughout the session. Each class focuses on several core elements, which are deconstructed and simplified. Multiple difficulty levels are offered for each element, allowing participants to choose the version that suits them best and progress at their own pace.
The goal of the class is to encourage curiosity, boldness, expanded range, and enjoyment of movement. This is achieved through the development of technical tools, gradual building of difficulty, and cultivating confidence in floor interaction. We practice working with momentum, expanding ranges of motion, efficiency, organic flow, and dynamism in space.
About the Instructor:
Einav Barkevitz is a dancer, choreographer, and contemporary dance teacher active between Israel and Germany. She is a graduate of The School program at Bat-Dor Company and the "Dancer Training Track" in Tel Aviv-Yafo. Her professional career continued with specialization at Tanz Kassel in Germany, after which she worked as an independent dancer and creator, collaborating with leading artists and institutions in Israel and Europe, including Cooperativa Maura Morales, Veronica Riz, Staatstheater Kassel, and Oper Cologne. As a choreographer, her works have been presented at international festivals and platforms in Germany, Italy, and Israel. Her pieces The Skin Remembers and "Lafa, Leshem veHaShem" (created as part of the 123 program at Suzanne Dellal Centre in collaboration with Misaskim) have received recognition and awards at various festivals and platforms, and continue to be performed domestically and internationally.
