A meeting, talk, and hands-on workshop with artist Noa Raz Melamed, inspired by the exhibition “Movement: The Kibbutz in Israeli Art.” Participants will discover how straw stems become delicate and stable sculptural structures. In the workshop, they will experiment with creating structures based on balance, attentiveness, and connection.

What can be built from a single straw stem? And what happens when dozens of them are joined together?
In this meeting with artist Noa Raz Melamed, we will discover how a simple, fragile natural material becomes a delicate yet powerful sculptural structure. Inspired by the video work Blanket Jump, we will discuss balance, tension, and stability, as well as the possibility of creating beauty precisely from humble materials found in nature.
In the hands-on workshop, we will experiment with straw stems and create sculptural structures that exist through balance, attentiveness, and the act of connecting them.
The “Meeting at the Museum” series is a series of gatherings intended to shine a spotlight on the work of women artists, curators, and creators active in the museum sphere, inviting people from Ramat Gan and across Israel to take part in a creative encounter.
