Visual-kinesthetic theatrical adaptation of an autobiographical story by Georgian writer Noda Dumbadze. The production explores the power of family bonds, personal and collective identity, and connection to one's roots. The performance won a prize at an international festival in Georgia.
A visual and movement interpretation combined with video art, in the unique stage language of the Ensemble "Ayit," the home company of the Fringe Theater, adapting a classic short story by one of the greatest Georgian writers of the 20th century, Nodar Dumbadze.
The adaptation is based on the writer's autobiography — the story of an orphaned child torn between his grandfather from the Guria region and his grandmother from the Imereti region. It is a story that touches upon the very essence of the power of blood ties — from the nuclear family to an entire nation. The production raises questions about personal identity, collective identity, and our connection to our roots. Questions that seem more relevant than ever in this period.
The production "Blood Tie" won the "Best Interpretation" award at the international festival "Nodar Dumbadze" in Georgia.
