Over three days, the festival presents a wide range of dance performances spanning various styles, from aerial dance to floor-based works. The event includes both general-audience shows and adult-only pieces, focusing on providing diverse and challenging experiences. The performances take place in Talpiot, Jerusalem.
For three days, we will encounter performances spanning the extremes: from high aerial dance to works born close to the floor; from slow, hypnotic, and meditative butō to eruptions of energy and dizzying rhythm; from delicate and intimate pieces to powerful, funny, bold, and shattering shows.
This year, the audience also spans the extremes—performances for little ones and the whole family alongside works for adults only; big questions and topics we don’t always dare to discuss, alongside moments of lightness, humor, and wonder.
Machol Shalem has always sought to open new spaces, and this year we choose to push the boundaries just a bit further—inviting you to move with us between the delicate and the wild, the soft and the rough, between laughter and silence, between the ground and the sky.
The events take place from August 25–27 at HaTachana precinct and Machol Shalem Dance Center in Talpiot, Jerusalem.
