Heidi is an orphaned girl, full of joy, curiosity, and courage. She comes to live with her grandfather, an irritable man who speaks to no one, in a modest cottage at the top of the Alps, where she befriends a goat-herding boy named Peter. Little Heidi imperceptibly transforms the lives of her grandfather and Peter, and they spend their days together, happy and content. One day, Heidi's aunt arrives and takes her to Frankfurt to live in the grand house of a wealthy family seeking a girl to be a companion to their daughter Clara, who is confined to a wheelchair. Soon a unique friendship develops between them, but despite this, Heidi's longing for her grandfather, for Peter, and for the mountains gives her no peace, and she yearns to return to them.
Heidi's story is a tale of friendship and loyalty, of nature and freedom, of the power of love, and above all of the ability to see the good in every person and in every situation. Thanks to this ability, Heidi manages, despite all difficulties, to experience great happiness and true love. The famous and touching story by Johanna Spyri, which has become one of the classics of world children's literature, receives a fresh adaptation as a captivating and enchanting dance theater production.
