Moisha was once a popular wedding comedian in Jerusalem, but lost his fame due to alcohol addiction. When his thirty-year-old daughter gets married, he urgently needs to raise twenty thousand dollars. A series of failures ends with an unexpected chance to earn the required sum and simultaneously return to the stage.
"The Jester" tells the story of Moisha (Shuli Rand), who was once one of the greatest wedding jesters in Jerusalem, but lost his status following alcohol addiction. Today he lives hand to mouth, far from the glory that characterized his past. When his 31-year-old daughter receives a successful match, Moisha faces an impossible task: to raise twenty thousand dollars for the wedding. His many attempts to obtain the money fail one after another, until an extraordinary opportunity crosses his path—one that allows him not only to secure the required sum, but also to attempt a return to the stage and to his golden days as a jester.
