The Kintsugi course will teach the Japanese method of repairing broken ceramic tools in all its stages. The course will take place over 5 sessions on Mondays, starting from October 12, 2026. Participants will enjoy an in-depth learning experience with equipment and materials from Japan.
The Kintsugi course will teach the Japanese method of repairing broken ceramic tools in all its stages. The course will take place over 5 sessions on Mondays, starting from October 12, 2026. Participants will enjoy an in-depth learning experience with equipment and materials from Japan.
Over the course of 5 sessions, we will learn about the history of the technique, its mental value, sustainability, the world of WABI SABI, and discover the beauty and value in simplicity and the marks of breakage and time in our environment, through the tool that we will repair. Kin-tsugi course led by Chen Magal, a Kin-tsugi and Japanese lacquer artist. Equipment and materials from Japan, as well as a tool for repair, will be provided to students during the course.
About the instructor:
Chen Magal, a Kin-tsugi artist, can be found at her website right here. She discovered the field of Kin-tsugi a few years ago, quite by accident, and from there everything changed for her. Today, Chen is engaged in teaching Kin-tsugi, Japanese repair methods, lacquer work, and other Japanese arts (rankaku, kanshitsu-fun, Fuki Urushi, and more). Chen repairs, restores, teaches, and creates tools by request, for private clients as well as designers. For her, the process provides peace of mind, flow, a deep understanding of patience, and humility.

The five sessions will take place on Mondays, starting from 12.10.26, from 18:00 - 20:30. Session dates: 12.10, 19.10, 26.10, 2.11, and 9.11. Course price: 1,500 NIS. Course price for Tel Aviv-Yafo residents: 1,400 NIS.
Early registration at a price of 1,300 NIS for all customers until the date 28.9 is through the administration.

By public transport: Any line reaching the corner of Hamassger and Harakevet Streets, cross towards Rosh Pina St, and turn onto Hagrogor St. By foot or bicycle: It is recommended to arrive via Harakevet St, enter from Rosh Pina St or Bnei Brak St, and turn onto Hagrogor St. Nearby parking lots: Central Park lot on Harakevet 58, paid. Blue and white parking: Please pay attention to the sign at the start of the street.
The workshop will be conducted according to Home Front Command guidelines, with a shelter available at the community center if necessary.
Cancellation policy
14 days before the activity, a refund with a 5% deduction. After that, no refund at any stage.
