Description: 1945 Germany is a place where everything collapses at once. Cities are in ruins, the Nazi regime is falling, and millions of people are searching for food, shelter, and direction. The victorious powers of the war begin to reshape Germany. From this moment, we will try to understand how an entire country deals with defeat, guilt, and survival, and how from the ruins the post-World War II world begins to emerge.
Lecturer: Yossi Gilad
Yossi Gilad is involved in education and the field of Holocaust memory in Israel and Europe. He is a senior lecturer at the Central School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem and a pedagogical advisor for projects related to Holocaust commemoration and education.
