Comic opera by Rossini at the Opera House – the Performing Arts Center, Tel Aviv-Yafo. The plot follows Rosina and Lindor’s attempts to marry.
Bartolo fears that the drunken soldier is none other than a messenger sent by Almaviva. Suddenly, Don Alonso arrives, presenting himself as a music teacher and as a substitute for the ailing Don Basilio. Figaro arrives as well and insists on shaving Bartolo so that Rosina and her Lindor (who is actually Don Alonso) can enjoy a few moments of peace. Suddenly, Don Basilio also appears, healthy as a bull, but everyone tries to convince him that he really is ill, and he leaves in a panic. Figaro continues shaving Bartolo while the lovers plan their escape, but Bartolo overhears them and angrily drives the Count and Figaro from his house.
At night, Figaro and the Count (Lindor) arrive at Bartolo’s house and place a ladder against Rosina’s window. But Rosina, who has believed Bartolo’s slanderous stories, refuses to join Lindor and Figaro. When the Count reveals his identity to Rosina and reassures her, they plan to leave, but unfortunately the ladder has disappeared. At that very moment, Don Basilio arrives with a lawyer, intending to marry Rosina to Bartolo. Figaro and the Count, however, persuade them to marry Rosina to Almaviva instead. When Bartolo arrives, the marriage contract has already been signed, and he has no choice but to accept his fate meekly and join everyone in congratulating the Count and his new Countess.
