
The opera “Peter Grimes” in English will take place from November 20–30, 2026, at the Beit HaOpera Hall in Tel Aviv.
The opera is performed in English, with Hebrew and English subtitles. Translation by Israel Uval. Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes is a modern tragedy about a lonely fisherman and the community of a coastal town, where mounting fears, rumors, and public condemnation slowly drive a man out of society. Mariusz Treliński’s direction focuses on the sea, the pier, and the fishing village, emphasizing the protagonist’s vulnerability. This production is a joint project of the Israeli Opera and the Grand Theatre—Polish National Opera. Conducted by Alexander Joel; directed by Mariusz Treliński.
