“This is an intelligent, clever journey, with rhythm and speech that build interest, and it is very compelling. This is how theater should be. Long may there be more of it.”

Lately, I’ve been feeling very uncomfortable with the world
because I still haven’t given it a child.
They say that’s the gift it wants,
and it’s strange. Usually, people settle for wine or a box of chocolates—
something you can buy on the way.
We’ll stop, buy it, and continue.
There has to be fuel to keep things moving anyway,
there’s a war here all the time anyway,
and Sigal, the grade coordinator, wants to know—what’s happening with the end-of-year party???
The deadline has arrived, and we need to decide whether it’s necessary. What about sound equipment? Scenery? Or are you having a baby?
Yael Tal in a cheeky, associative musical stage work about whether to bring a child into the world.
This is a nonlinear, unexpected, funny, and moving story. A story about the nuances that make up a fateful decision, the search for a freedom with no precedent, the faith one has to invent, and what it means to be a woman, daughter, and mother in a country at war.
