Alessandro Safina — My Way — Live Concert with Orchestra

World-famous Italian tenor and audience favorite Alessandro Safina will present his new program, “My Way,” to Israeli audiences. The solo concerts in Haifa and Tel Aviv will be accompanied by an instrumental orchestra from Italy and an Israeli violin ensemble.

In addition to new compositions, the renowned opera and pop singer promises to perform the beloved hits that brought him fame and won the hearts of millions of women, including his magnificent hit “La Luna,” which made Alessandro Safina famous around the world.

He will also perform hits from the brilliant album “Insieme A Te,” which sold millions of copies.

It was following the album’s release that Alessandro Safina, a graduate of the Florence Conservatory and an opera singer who had previously performed leading roles on the stages of Europe’s finest theaters in “La Bohème,” “The Barber of Seville,” and “Rusalka,” broke beyond the boundaries of academic art, essentially creating a new genre later known as “opera rock.”

Alessandro became interested in music as a child. His parents were passionate opera fans and sought to pass that passion on to their son. At 17, he entered the conservatory in Florence, and just a few years later was performing as a soloist in Europe’s finest musical theaters. After winning first prize at the 1989 Katia Ricciarelli International Singing Competition, he embarked on an active stage career, performing leading roles in “La Bohème,” “The Barber of Seville,” “The Elixir of Love,” “Rusalka,” and “Eugene Onegin.”

His unique voice and natural charm, vivid charisma, and artistic daring—which enabled him to unite opera with popular music, rock, and soul—became the foundations of his worldwide success.

His first single, “Luna,” topped the European charts and became the main theme of the popular television series “The Clone.” It was followed by a soundtrack recording for Baz Luhrmann’s film “Moulin Rouge!” and a performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Music of the Night” for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Five solo albums and remarkable duets with Elton John (“Your Song”), Rod Stewart (“Don’t Get Around Much Anymore”), Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, Andrea Bocelli, and Sumi Jo, as well as his participation in the recording of Sarah Brightman’s album “Symphony” and the “Symphony World Tour 2008,” earned Alessandro’s records gold and platinum status, sold-out performances around the world, and the love of a huge army of fans.

Safina’s major breakthrough came after a concert in the Netherlands. The single “Luna,” from the album “Insieme A Te,” remained at the top of the Dutch charts for 14 weeks. The album itself went quadruple platinum there and was released in another 30 countries.

Alessandro Safina’s program will feature new songs and, of course, his golden hits, accompanied by an instrumental orchestra from Italy and an Israeli violin ensemble.
