Early morning. A café on the seafront in Tel Aviv. Yakov Brener, an ordinary man, leafs through the menu while waiting for a woman he has arranged to meet.
The café’s owner, a certain Alex Hertser, approaches him and insistently tries to strike up a conversation, despite the other man’s clear reluctance. What begins as a chance dialogue gradually turns into a dark and mysterious psychological thriller.
Alex shares the fateful moments of his life with Yakov, revealing a tragic story capable of affecting Yakov’s life as well. The play Hot Bagel raises questions of retribution and forgiveness, guilt, remorse, and personal responsibility.
A meeting that seems accidental becomes a stunning journey, full of twists and turns—right up to an unexpected conclusion.
