A one-woman play about a rebellious radio broadcaster summing up her life on her last day. The play takes place at Tzavta, Tel Aviv; the performance date was not specified.
Shmira Imber, 78, a distant niece of the poet who wrote the national anthem, is a legendary broadcaster, rebellious at heart, who is battling cancer. The play takes place on the last day of her life. In about an hour, at her request, she will receive medical treatment that will bring about her death. In a musical radio program she records before her death, she embarks on a journey through her life:
From her wild childhood in 1950s Tel Aviv, through her military service as a soldier fighting for justice. From there to 1960s California, where she joined the flower children and protested against the Vietnam War. Later, when she acted in the Israeli version of the musical Hair, and through her years as a newsreader and music presenter who never hesitated to express her firm opinion live on air, even when she knew she would be punished.
Playwright: Yoav Ginai | Director: Alon Ofir | Starring: Merav Gruber
