Bini has waited fifty years for the moment when he could reunite with Rutha, his childhood sweetheart, and return with her to the neighborhood where they grew up in Dubrovnik, Croatia. When Rutha is widowed, Bini realizes the moment has arrived. He buys two one-way plane tickets, gathers his courage, and comes home intending to tell Naomi, his wife, that he is leaving. His pulse quickens, the front door swings wide open, and… Bini finds himself at the golden wedding anniversary celebration that his family has secretly organized for him and his wife. Bini, who has never disappointed his family, beams from ear to ear, savoring the congratulations, cocktails, and family videos—but deep inside, he knows: if he follows his heart, he will break the hearts of those who love him.
