Cats at the Flea Market. Shuk HaPishpishim and the Jaffa Cemetery
A tour of the Jaffa flea market and a closed cemetery will take place on October 1 from 17:30 to 21:00. Registration is mandatory.
On Thursday evening, October 1 (Chol HaMoed), from 17:30–21:00, I invite you to a cemetery—and more: a tour with special significance for medical professionals!
Jaffa Flea Market: shops, graffiti, and places where stray cats are fed.
Prestigious hotels, the secrets of the funniest antique deals at the Flea Market, and an English Protestant cemetery hidden among residential buildings, now locked with a padlock—which we will nevertheless enter through the home of a family with whom I have arranged a visit.
And, of course, urban sculpture, stories about Ottoman wells, and quiet courtyards just two meters from the noise of cafés and restaurants, as well as an introduction to Bunchi (a cat) and colorful photo spots.
At the end of the tour, you can stay at the market—to spend money, drink beer, eat Jaffa knafeh, or simply wander around and experience the city’s vitality!
