Meeting with the exhibition curator, Shachar Molcho.
Tom Wesselmann (1931–2004), a key figure of American Pop Art in the 1960s, created bold and direct images reflecting the culture they mirrored. Through depictions of fragmented, flat, and monumental still lifes and nudes, he reimagined the tradition of painting in an era saturated with advertising, consumerism, and media spectacles. His work navigates the boundary between intimacy and exposure, attraction and discomfort.
