Guided tour of the exhibition featuring works by Tom Wesselmann, one of the founders of American Pop Art. Museum guides will present his bold and direct imagery reflecting consumer culture and advertising. The tour ticket also includes entry to the museum.
Tom Wesselmann (1931–2004), a key figure of American Pop Art in the 1960s, created bold and direct images that reflected the culture they mirrored. Through depictions of still life and nudes—fragmented, flat, and monumental—he reimagined the tradition of painting in an era saturated with advertising, consumerism, and media spectacles. His work straddles the line between intimacy and exposure, attraction and discomfort.
