The Magid Library invites you to an intellectual and cultural gathering held on the library's terrace. The event embarks on a journey through the districts of Paris via chansons and stories about famous French artists. This is part of the "Indian Summer" project and combines a lecture, listening to music, and archival clips.
There are cities you can get to know through their streets, and there are cities you can get to know through the songs written about them.
Paris is perhaps the only city where the streets themselves sound like a chorus.
In this meeting, we will embark on a journey from Montmartre to Saint-Germain, following in the footsteps of Édith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, Barbara, Georges Brassens, Yves Montand, Dalida, Enrico Macias, and others.
Through songs, archive clips, and stories, we will discover how the city shaped the artists, and how the artists shaped the image of Paris in the world's cultural memory.
