The Chamber Theater's production is back on stage! The premiere took place in 1966 and was a huge success. Shlonsky's play "Utsli-Gutsli" is based on the famous Grimm Brothers' fairy tale "Rumpelstiltskin."
The king ordered the miller's daughter to spin straw into gold thread. The beautiful girl wept bitterly, not knowing how to fulfill the king's command. Rumpelstiltskin promised to help her if, in return, she gave him her firstborn child. The miller's daughter agreed, unaware that soon the king would marry her and, a year later, she would give birth to a wonderful baby, whom the treacherous Rumpelstiltskin would come to claim.
