"Dissociation" is a performance that translates the mechanism of dissociation into a sensory experience. The performance combines live performance with images on a cinema screen to create a tense dialogue. Part of the show includes a pre-premiere screening of "Duet with Hope."
Do you have the courage to dive into a split?
"Dissot" is not a regular theater show nor a movie; it is a creation that brings together a live, exposed, and vulnerable performance on stage with a projected and directed image on a cinema screen. Through an architecture of levels and stairs, music, new texts, screen, and body, a rhythmic and tense dialogue is created that responds in real-time. The creation peels away walls and seeks to reveal what comes forth precisely within the dissociative disconnection.
A sensory experience that is half party, half raw cinema, and entirely a dive into the places where we disappear to discover who really stays inside to protect us.
As part of the show, there will be a pre-premiere screening of the original video work "Duet with Hope".
Filming, color, and direction: Maayan Malchin. Art and direction: Inbar Oved.
