The Kingdom of Nonsense and the Kingdom of Seriousness | Orna Porat Children’s Theater

Seriouslock, prince of the Kingdom of Seriousness, lives in a world where everything has a rule, a time, and a reason. In the kingdom beyond the mountain, Nonsensia, princess of the Kingdom of Nonsense, lives in a completely opposite world—where everything is a game and every problem is solved with laughter.

When Seriouslock’s boat is swept onto an unfamiliar shore, he meets Nonsensia and is drawn into her colorful and surprising world. She teaches him to laugh, imagine, and go with the flow, while he teaches her about the depth of thought, the importance of order and discipline, and how to navigate using wind directions and the North Star.

Despite their differences, the two become filled with excitement and curiosity about the new world revealed to them, and even manage to form a friendship—until a major quarrel at sea makes them think that their differences are too great and that they will never be able to bridge them.

Angry and disappointed, they each return to their own kingdom. As the days pass and their anger fades, they feel that something is missing… And when they encounter a problem, they remember what they learned from each other.

When they realize how much they miss and need one another, they meet again and prove to everyone that nonsense and seriousness are complementary opposites that, together, create a whole and perfect world.

A humorous and touching musical play about friendship, balance and harmony, and new and surprising worlds that, if we know how to embrace them, can make life much more interesting.
