An Emotional Drama
In an Italian immigrant neighborhood, near the port in Brooklyn, Eddie Carbone (Nathan Datner) and his wife raise her niece. Two cousins who have entered America illegally arrive at the house. This is the story of a devoted and loving "father" who, in a desperate attempt to keep the "daughter" to himself, was willing to give up his family, self-respect, and life. It is a story of terrible passion, betrayal, revenge, and primal justice versus organized judicial systems of a civilized society. The play, considered Arthur Miller's best, is directed by Nathan Datner.
