The tango dance show De Tango y Sombras with Marcos Ashla and his troupe, from November 24 to December 7 at the Netanya Cultural Center and venues throughout Israel.
FGK Productions Ltd. proudly presents:
The legend of Argentine tango, Marcos Ayala, and the Marcos Ayala Tango Company in the dance performance De Tango y Sombras
All Israeli dance lovers are invited to once again enjoy and be moved by an encounter with the King of Tango—Marcos Ayala, returning with his performance De Tango y Sombras, a new adaptation of his work Tango in the Shadows, which continues to conquer the world.
De Tango y Sombras is a breathtaking, passionate dance performance that also incorporates fascinating philosophical depth. Marcos Ayala—choreographer, dancer, and artistic director of the Marcos Ayala Tango Company—has achieved worldwide recognition as one of the leading artists in the world of tango.
In this performance, like a skilled magician, he leads the audience on a mysterious journey between light and shadow through mesmerizing choreography, dramatic lighting, and moving music from the Río de la Plata region. He invites each spectator to reconsider their perception of love, rediscover themselves, and proudly embrace the light and darkness within.
The performance’s plot draws inspiration from the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone, reimagined through the language of tango. A creature from the underworld, incapable of love, rises to the surface and chooses a young woman to take with him into the depths of the abyss. But then the unexpected happens: a love develops between them, overcoming the abyss between the light and darkness that separated them.
Marcos Ayala is the recipient of numerous awards, including the World Tango Championship held in Japan in 2006. He also participated in Cirque du Soleil performances as a guest choreographer.
