A new series by creator Gil Shohat, titled The Ten Sefirot, which constitute the foundations of the world and humanity. Each session is dedicated to one or two sefirot, integrated with an in-depth analysis of a masterful and significant musical work. In this session, the foundation is religion and faith, and the works include "Song of Songs" by Gil Shohat and "The Great Mass" by Bach.
The foundation of faith creates the Great Mass and Song of Songs. The principle of judgment and justice is expressed through the character of Tosca. The element of fate is the true reason for Carmen's death.
Creator Gili Soghet’s new series itself constitutes a creation of a musical world—the Ten Sefirot translate into ten foundations, and the twenty-two letters become twelve tones. Thus, the story is built—using the 22 letters that create the world and humanity. Each meeting will be dedicated to one (or two) sefirot that form a foundation of the world and humanity, alongside one exemplary and significant musical work that Gili Soghet connects to its essence.
The works themselves, as well as parallel pieces, are performed at each meeting, featuring in-depth analysis and discussion of the composition, the composer, and its cultural, philosophical, and historical context. The works are projected and heard in exemplary performances, some in rare executions. A healthy, original, and unique musical and intellectual concert season in Kfar Saba!
