David Grossman’s beloved classic comes to life: "Itamar Takes a Walk on the Walls" – a digital theatrical experience for the whole family. From the creators of "Caspion - The Black Theatre," a new, first-of-its-kind adaptation arrives, combining video art, fantasy, and digital art, taking children on a journey within the pictures on the wall.
Nedanada Theatre is proud to present the stage adaptation of David Grossman’s masterpiece, "Itamar Takes a Walk on the Walls." Following the international success of "Caspion," the creators return with a production that blends the language of classical theatre with advanced video-art technology, creating a multi-sensory experience never before seen on Israel's children's stages.
In Itamar’s room hang three pictures: a colorful train, a girl with a kite, and a forest with a pair of lions. When Itamar cannot fall asleep, he embarks on a fantastic journey where the boundary between reality and imagination blurs. He steps into the pictures on the wall to solve a mystery troubling him: why do the lion and lioness look so sad?
The play uses innovative digital art that allows Itamar to be "swallowed" into the world of paintings. With virtual sets and video installations, the young audience and their parents are invited to climb the walls of the room with Itamar, fly on a kite, and stroll through a magical forest. At the heart of the play is the child’s power to confront fears and big questions through the world of imagination. The show emphasizes the freedom to think outside the box and turn any white wall into a gateway for adventure.
