Folk Dance Shows and Performances for the General Public – In an Open, Community Atmosphere and Free of Charge
With the start of the summer season, the Jerusalem Municipality’s Department of Dance invites you to step into the magical nights of the city and experience together a living, colorful, and moving Israeli tradition.
The Summer Folk Dances are a celebration of songs and dances—an enduring asset of Israeli culture—that weave together past and present, memory and joy, community and human connection.
Throughout the summer months, residents, visitors, and tourists will enjoy a multi-generational experience that brings hearts closer, combining folk dances from all eras alongside a unique Jerusalem atmosphere under the open sky.
The folk dance sessions will feature top dance leaders: Hila Mokdes, Mimi Cohen, Ofer Tzofi, Sharit Doron, Mozi Raveh, and Ofer Alfasi, accompanied by short performances by Jerusalem dance troupes representing the city in Israel and abroad.
This is an opportunity to join a warm social-community tradition, breathe fresh air, move, and connect—through music, movement, and the Jerusalem summer.

The folk dance sessions on the following dates will take place at the Arts High School Square (entrance via Bell Garden): 24.8.26 | 31.8.26
Free Entry
Dancers are invited to register in advance via the form and participate in a draw held at each session. At each dance, one winner will be selected, who will receive the opportunity to choose a particularly beloved song/dance and perform it together with the dance leader in the center of the circle. Winners’ names will be announced during the session.
