How many times did you count to 10 and nothing happened? Rafi Persky returns to his debut album, How Many Times Did You Count to 10, in a festive show marking 35 years since the album’s release.
Rafi Persky, one of the most prominent and recognizable voices in Israeli rock, celebrates 35 years of his debut album, How Many Times Did You Count to 10, in a special, one-time performance dedicated entirely to the album that over the years became one of the most influential albums in Israeli rock.
Over time, How Many Times Did You Count to 10 became one of the most beloved and influential albums in Israeli music of the 1990s. The album was produced by Yaakov Gilad. The two met at the recording studio where Persky worked. He told Gilad that he wrote songs and asked him to listen to them—and from there, everything became both hysteria and history.
Songs such as “Million Dollars,” “How Many Times,” “Once a Week,” and “I’m Good” became hits, and the album quickly achieved Gold status.
The show will feature all the album’s songs, performed in new and refreshing arrangements. Persky will be joined onstage by Geva Alon, who is also the show’s musical producer, and Django. Alongside this elite team of guitarists, the stage will also feature Asaf Reis (drums) and Omer Elias (keyboards).
Rafi Persky: “After many offers and much thought, I feel that this is the right time to celebrate this album. The new show consists of songs from the album alongside additional songs from albums released afterward. I’m very excited to work on the show—and even more excited to celebrate it with the audience that has accompanied me throughout these 35 years.”
