Israeli Youth Theater Shaul Tiktiner New Year's Tale "The Snow Queen"

Winter. New Year. Snow. At this time of the year, windows are covered with intricate patterns, while streets and rooftops are wrapped in a white coat. It is precisely at this time that the lights of New Year trees are lit, heralding a time of miracles. Unfortunately, it is also the time when the cold and cruel Snow Queen travels above the clouds in her sleigh. There is nothing more unpleasant for her than a warm, kind human heart. Of course, you guessed it – we are talking about the fairy tale "The Snow Queen."

This tale was written by Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen, and the talented playwright Evgeny Schwartz adapted it into a play for children's theatre. The Israeli Youth Theatre Shaul Tiktiner will present its theatrical version of this fairy tale during the New Year holidays. The play "The Snow Queen" is about kindness, happiness, and extraordinary love.

As soon as we hear the first sounds of the storyteller’s mysterious incantation "snip-snap-snurre pure-bazelyurre," we enter a magical world, both joyful and sad. In this world, there will be a boy named Kai and a girl named Gerda, kind Prince and Princess, a little robber girl, a northern reindeer, and many other fairy-tale characters. The premiere of "The Snow Queen" was prepared by a large creative team:

Set designer O. Firer and his assistants created stunning scenery and costumes, with the lighting designer developing incredible lighting effects, and A. Kurazh choreographed the amusing dances. The acting ensemble consists of wonderful talented professionals: T. Kotenicheva, S. Pasternak, Sh. Tiktiner, V. Klassen, B. Gorelik, I. Yelizariev. Who plays the roles of Gerda, Kai, and the Little Robber Girl is a pleasant surprise for young viewers. The play features beautiful music by composer Igor Stravinsky, and it was all directed by Shaul Tiktiner.
