Avraham Sutzkever, Shmerke Kaczerginski, and a group of creators and fighters known as the "Paper Brigade" operated day after day, risking their lives to smuggle, rescue, and hide rare Jewish cultural treasures—manuscripts, works of art, books, and songs—before they disappeared from the world.
