The play is based on the novella of the same name by Ephraim Sevela, an outstanding Jewish writer, screenwriter, and film director, known worldwide for his novels and screenplays. Ephraim Sevela is the author of famous books such as "Legends of Disabled Street," "Stop the Plane — I Want to Get Off," "Monia Tsatskes — Banner Bearer," "A Man's Talk in a Russian Bathhouse," "The Parrot that Spoke Yiddish," and the novel "Toyota Corolla." After emigrating from the USSR in 1971, Sevela lived and worked in Israel for several years, where he volunteered to defend the country during the Yom Kippur War and was wounded.
