Dimona, welcome

It is precisely during the blooming season of the beautiful desert daffodils that I invite you to Dimona.

We will talk about the brief history of the modern city and its residents. We will meet representatives of the Ivriim community from Dimona and learn how and why these people left the United States and came here, claiming that they are the real Jews. We will also sample dishes from this community. The Ivriim of Dimona are vegan and place great importance on healthy eating. There will be an opportunity to purchase treats for the Sabbath table.

Then we will set out on a journey through the desert. We will take a 12-kilometer hike with an elevation gain of approximately 200 meters.

We will walk along the usually dry beds of the Dimona and Ashlon streams. After the rains, hollows in the rocks (gibim) fill with water in the Ashlon streambed. During this period, beautiful daffodil blooms, as well as other desert flowers, can be seen along these streambeds.

We will return to the city via the Bedouin tents of those who settled near Dimona and learn about their way of life.

The cost of the event is 200 shekels, of which 80 shekels include the visit to the Ivriim community and refreshments.
