Dr. Niv Goldstein, a lecturer in political thought at Bar-Ilan University, will introduce us to the story of John Stuart Mill: a child prodigy, the product of an extreme educational experiment, who was ahead of his time in numerous fields.
In his book On Liberty, Mill encouraged self-fulfillment, originality, and independent thought, and warned against herd mentality, mediocrity, and society’s interference in the individual’s life.
The lecture combines amusing examples from Seinfeld, Friends, Monty Python, and more.
