Kremulator – the first theatrical adaptation of Sasha Filipenko’s novel of the same name, based on authentic interrogation documents of the director of the first crematorium in the USSR. Directed by Maksim Didenko. Starring Maksim Sukhanov in the lead role. Svetlana Mamrshova plays Vera. Igor Titov plays the Investigator.
The story centers on Pyotr Nesterenko, a former White Army pilot and officer, an exile. After years of wandering, he dares the impossible – returning to his homeland, driven not by calculation, but by the love of his life.
This is a tale about a man willing to give everything – his life, honor, truth – for a feeling stronger than fear and time.

The play premiered in Berlin in 2024 and was part of the VOICES BERLIN festival. In 2023, Sasha Filipenko’s novel Kremulator was named the best European novel by the French journal Transfuge.
