The local elections are on the horizon, and the powerful and long-standing mayor, Moshe Schwartzman, is worried that no candidate dares to run against him. Without a rival, there's no campaign, and without a campaign, the donors' wallets remain closed. Besides, someone might say he's a dictator; after all, democracy is his guiding light. So what to do? To create the appearance of a fair election, a fictional contender must be found—someone "whose only their family would vote for, and even they would hesitate before doing so." When the cleaner enters the office and starts tidying up, it's clear to everyone that the perfect candidate has been found. The cleaner's name is Ilana. And she's here to stay! A sharp and moving comedy about a determined woman who can't stand filth.
