Haya, a young Israeli dancer, has started a new life in Berlin, complete with a successful career and a secret pregnancy. Her brother, Netzach, and her mother, Vicky, who has refused to speak to her for two years, remain in Petah Tikva.
One day, Vicky surprises Haya by arriving in Berlin to carry out the unconventional will of Haya and Netzach’s grandfather. Soon, the family is swept into a maelstrom that exposes, with plenty of humor and pain, their own past and that of Germany’s Jews—and along the way, they take a young German ticket inspector and a local museum director at a Holocaust extermination site along with them.
