It was supposed to be a pleasant and charming Parisian evening at home with family and friends. Elizabeth prepared a special meal for everyone’s enjoyment: Pierre, her husband, a literature professor; Vincent, her brother, who finally found the woman of his dreams, Anna, and is about to become a father; and the best friend, Claude, a trombone player. Above all these hovers the loving presence of the family matriarch, who resides far in the countryside and envelops them with love and generosity.
But the evening takes a completely different turn, and no one present will forget it. It begins with a game hosted by Vincent, the father-to-be, where everyone is asked to guess the first name he chose for the upcoming baby.
A witty and surprising play, currently a smashing success in Paris and also adapted into a film. Its two authors are leading satirists who regularly write for French television.
