Bati, a young ultra-Orthodox woman and mother of three, lives in Jerusalem according to a carefully structured routine. Her world is suddenly shaken when she receives dubious photographs of her beloved husband, Lazer, in the mail and discovers that he is being blackmailed by a local gang.
The revelation upends the couple’s lives and sends Bati on a journey of awakening, self-discovery, and the search for emotional and feminine freedom.
The play was written based on a screenplay by Mindy Ehrlich, who grew up in Jerusalem’s ultra-Orthodox community, and which became an acclaimed, award-winning film directed by Nir Bergman.
The production brings a rare ultra-Orthodox female voice to the stage and reveals the human complexity behind walls of silence.
