Beni has been waiting fifty years for the moment he can reunite with Rutha, his childhood sweetheart, and return with her to the neighborhood where they grew up in Dubrovnik, Croatia. When Rutha becomes widowed, Beni realizes the moment has come. He buys a one-way plane ticket for two, gathers courage, and arrives home intending to tell Naomi, his wife, that he is leaving. His pulse quickens, the door swings wide open, and... Beni finds himself at his and his wife's golden anniversary party, which the family had organized as a surprise. Beni, who has never let his family down, smiles from ear to ear, savoring the blessings, cocktails, and family videos, but deep inside he knows: if he follows his heart, he will crush the hearts of his loved ones. Present and past intertwine and unite into a crazy, funny, and moving family story.
