A new madcap comedy about a literature teacher who discovers that his mother was not Jewish. The play will be performed at the Ma’alot-Tarshiha Culture Hall.
After his mother dies peacefully in old age, literature teacher Or Auslander discovers, almost by accident, that she was not Jewish. What initially appears to be a bureaucratic error soon becomes a fact that shakes the foundations of his family and life. Is some secret hidden in his mother’s past, or is this all simply a mistake? Or embarks on a mad journey that begins with a clerk at the Rabbinical Council and culminates in a séance with his mother’s spirit, in an attempt to establish his true identity.
A new madcap comedy by Daniel Lapin (“Four Mothers,” “Between Holiness and Holon,” “Zehu Ze”), about the most unexpected identity crisis in the life of a man who has never questioned his identity.
