Big Premiere in Israel!

"...The event will continue if the alarm lasts no more than an hour..." – this is how the play begins. Does it remind you of anything?..

In the first half of May, Israel will host the premieres of the play "Odesa-Style Alarm or How One Mishpuha Gathered in a Shelter" featuring our wonderful friends, People's Artists of Ukraine, true Odessans Oleg Filimonov and Diana Malaya.

The play is filled with purely Odesa jokes, pranks, humor, but at the same time, it is crafted delicately, with soul, cleverly, and hilariously to tears – something Odesa cannot live without, no matter how dark the times may be.

Showing solidarity with Israel, the Odesa production team came up with a play whose idea is close and understandable to every Israeli (as well as every Odessan) – its theme is outlined in the play's title. Actors Oleg Filimonov and Diana Malaya skillfully unfold the plot with such virtuosity, "there's not enough space!" These two perform in a way that leaves no one indifferent! An hour and a half of their work on stage is not only the communication of actors with like-minded and humor-loving people. It's an hour and a half of enjoyment and positive emotions: the audience sometimes empathizes, sometimes laughs, sometimes cries, but these aren't tears of suffering, but tears of joy.

Someone might ask, "Is it appropriate to joke in such difficult times?" To this, every Odessan will respond, "Not only is it appropriate, but it's necessary! Because a smile and laughter are the most reliable medicines, better than any medication, that help people survive in sometimes the most incredible conditions!" That's what Odessans believe, that's what the actors believe, that's what the creators of this wonderful, sparkling, and very Odessan play believe.

The performance is in Russian with an Odesa "pronunciation."

Husband – Oleg Filimonov, Soviet and Ukrainian theater and film actor, People's Artist of Ukraine, member of the KVN team "Odesa Gentlemen," host of TV shows "Gentleman's Show," "Filimonov and Company," "Camera of Laughter," among others.

Wife – Diana Malaya, Soviet and Ukrainian theater and film actress, People's Artist of Ukraine, serves at the Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after V. Vasylko, starred in films "Deja Vu," "Liquidation," "The Island of Unwanted People," among others.
