A personal performance by Laura Rivlin featuring original songs, sharp monologues, and cover versions of well-known songs. A close and magnetic show that combines humor and emotional moments.
Additional Details:
Original songs, disturbing monologues about the situation, and surprising covers of well-known hits.
"A spectacular show, intimate and energetic, witty and dotted with humor and small moments of grace... a band of musicians celebrating" - The Stage, Merav Yudilovitch
"I laughed, cried, got emotional, and was amazed! The songs, the commentary, the musicians, and the arrangements are pure delight!" - Galatz, Hani Dinur
"Intelligent and elegant, dark, mysterious, witty and moving, astonishing and touching. Laura, with her restrained calmness, is magnetic" - Amos Oren, The Good Life
"Rivlin knows how to deliver a song. A smoky atmosphere, a bit bluesy, jazzy, and a pinch of French chanson, played wonderfully... like in albums by Tom Waits or Marianne Faithfull..." - Yedioth Ahronoth, Amir Schwartz
A musical evening of sharp personal cabaret. With a smoky voice and hypnotic delivery, Laura sings a cycle of original songs written from an observation of her life and the people around her - songs she edited with Nurit Zarchi and composed by Shaul Besser, with musical production by Yami Weissler (The Funerals), and alongside them - sharp, funny and less funny monologues about life and the situation, about the war that ended and maybe starts differently, and the everyday, as well as unexpected cover versions of familiar Israeli hits, colored in new shades by Laura.
"I don't know if it's the endless war or my age that insists on galloping forward until complete victory, the prices that are getting more expensive and human lives that have become cheap, but there's a feeling in the air - of the beginning of the final act, and I don’t know about you, but I already don’t remember where I hid the gun in the first act…" - Laura Rivlin, from the show.
