This is a live, online course held weekly on Zoom. Enrollment will be capped at about 15 students. This class will be conducted in Yiddish and English.

Who should take this course?
This course is appropriate for those who have completed Beginner II Yiddish or equivalent coursework.
What topics will this class cover?
This class will build on the language background acquired in Beginner II Yiddish. Drawing on a communicative approach, students will continue to work on each of the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The class will be based on Chapters 9-11, 13 and 15 of In eynem. New communication goals and vocabulary will include the family, food, professions, domestic objects, hobbies, and physical appearances. Grammar study will address adjective endings, position verbs, prepositions, contractions, and declension in the accusative and the dative case. The class will also focus on the Jewish holidays that fall during the semester. Additional reading materials and songs will be proposed by the instructor throughout the semester.
