Self-defense and Personal Resilience Workshop

The workshop provides women with practical tools to cope with various life challenges, with an emphasis on different types of violence. Throughout the workshop, participants will be exposed to various skills for identifying risky situations, setting boundaries, and effectively dealing with complex situations, while connecting the body, emotions, and consciousness. The tools taught in the workshop combine physical, mental, and emotional aspects, strengthening self-confidence, personal capability, and the ability to act with presence and clarity. Additionally, the workshop addresses topics such as personal space, harassment, voice utilization, boundaries, and responses to threatening situations, using dialogue, sharing, role-playing, demonstrations, and physical practice. Special emphasis is placed on creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment, enabling participants to connect to the content from their personal world, with sensitivity and adaptation to different backgrounds and challenges.
Facilitator: El Halev Association
El Halev is an organization that has been operating since 2003 to promote personal and community resilience by providing practical tools to enhance the sense of security, capability, and self-worth. The association develops and implements innovative programs based on international knowledge of Empowerment Self Defense (ESD), aimed at preventing physical, sexual, and emotional violence against children, youth, and women, as well as training educational and therapeutic staff. El Halev's method regards self-defense as much more than just a physical response and provides simple, accessible, and effective skills for real-time handling, escalation prevention, and protection from harm. According to the European Union report, it is considered one of the most effective methods in the world for preventing gender-based violence.
