Into the home come two cousins who have entered America illegally. This is the story of a devoted and loving "father" who, in a desperate attempt to keep the "daughter" to himself, was willing to give up his family, his self-respect, and his life. It is a story of terrible passion, betrayal, revenge, and primal justice versus the judicial systems of a reformed society.
The play is considered Arthur Miller's best work.
